theo
about
|
He's lazy and terribly unmotivated to move during the day, and often sleeps in questionable places like under a bathroom sink or the area in-between a sofa and the coffee table-- never places where you'd want someone to be sleeping in. When you catch him awake enough, he's the sort of cat that looks at you once and walks away. So, not the most friendliest or outwardly happy guy, to say in the least. He's the least friendly around nighttime, when he's actually awake. But unfortunately for him, he gets lonely pretty often.
He likes taking long walks, the best ones are those with no destination. It's not so much wanderlust as it is wanting to get lost. Theo will pick a few (a lot) of fights with people he's never met in his life. He'll get beaten up and thrown into the dumps with some broken bones, but instinct will always lead bring him back home one way or another. Not that he really wants to be home.
Theo's the absolute worst when it comes to dealing with emotions-- his and others'. Over the years he's picked up a sort of 6th sense where he can find the most opportune time to run away when it's most convenient for him, leading him to run away from his problems and being a very distant person overall. His tendency to keep a very large emotional distance from others and not self-reflect on himself or his actions makes him especially illiterate in the art of articulating his thoughts. It takes more than a lifetime's worth of patience to get around his crude, prideful self. And even then, you'll just find a bratty kid who won't accept reality.
His family life, as it currently stands, is a wreck. Not his whole family life, rather, it's his relationship with the rest of his family is a wreck. Theo decided in high school that he was going to move in with his relatives in the U.S. Not because the academic curriculum was better or for better job opportunities, but simply to run away. When his older siblings began to move out and away from the family, he became more aware of his position as the one to start being more responsible for his younger siblings. And having been treated as the kid of the family for his entire life, Theo simply didn't want to suddenly have to grow up for someone else's sake. The pains of adolescence happened shortly afterwards, only further complicating things for him. So as he spends his time hours away from his immediate family and barely returning their calls, he keeps trying to search for answers to questions that won't be answered if he keeps running and getting his brains punched out by drunk strangers.
