elizabeth marie / "may"
about
|
The girl famous for looking pissed all the time, May's got quite an unfortunate case of resting bitch face. Her face and anger management issues have her caught up in the middle of fights she usually wants no part of (honestly!).
May spends a lot of her time alone, thinking to herself. She's awfully great at being too introspective over every action she takes, which only has her spinning around in emotional circles and tiring herself out. Even though she is capable of feeling emotions outside of anger, she has a hard time expressing herself adequately and is just not the most savvy at communication.
May's parents took their darling flower to self-defense and wrestling classes to equip her with the necessary skills to survive in this all-too-harsh world. Her impressive fighting technique almost overshadows her very lacking communication skills. Almost. Father's work had him and his family travel all over the place, so May was never really around kids her age nor did she really bother to venture far from "home" (her parents). Her education consisted of studying with private tutors or receiving lessons directly from mother. But in the summer of her junior year of high school, big cousin Armani stepped in and offered May a more stationary home for herself-- a decision that she had to make for herself. This would be the first time May would learn to do something for herself. Having followed along a pre-determined path set by what her parents thought of what was best for her all her life, she did not know what it really meant to act on her own desires. She spent a lot of time thinking about herself, but she was never really given much space to experiment with her surroundings with all her parents arranged to keep her busy with. After a week of nothing but overthinking and going in circles, she packed her belongings and moved in to what would be her first home.

- Her years in public education were both simultaneously overwhelming and uneventful. She realized how much she's terrible at connecting with her peers, after spending her entire life primarily speaking to adults (and picking on Theo).
- Ignorance of peers social cues + her resting b*tch face = Unfortunate fights and manifestation of delinquency.
- Eventually gave up trying to actively befriend other people. Whoever wanted to talk to her would take it upon themselves to do so.
- The only person she's really talked to throughout her life is her cousin, Armani. So Armani's really the only one to be able to talk to May.
- Her name is obnoxious because her parents wanted her to have an obnoxious name.
